Back in January we all enjoyed a weekend in the mountains with friends. This is the day we went sledding.

I would have included an action shot but they are all too blurry.

I hadn’t even got it all the way out of the packaging and when I pulled on the clear-tubey end of this nice, rechargeable, wireless, LED light that my brother gave me for christmas…it came apart in my clutches.
But man, that packaging was aggressive. That stuff is ALWAYS hard to get open. They should have made this clear-tubey thing out of the packaging, then I wouldn’t be posting this.
You may even notice the yellow wire hanging out whereupon previously it didn’t really.

Good news in all of this; my years of breaking things has instilled a tolerable ability to put things back together again. And in many cases they are reassembled in a manner consistent with my usage of them. That is, I put them back together to withstand me. This time was no different. I soldered that little yellow wire back on with about 5 grams of solder. I put that at about 4.5 grams more than necessary. This overage was rather in deference to my weak soldering skills as opposed to my ‘make it bigger, better, stronger’ approach. I would’a been happy with 3.5 grams but eh.
Anyway, after that I packed all the entrails back in, smeared 1/4 tube of super glue all around that clear-tubey thing and ran it down till it stopped…then a bit more for good measure.
It worked! In retrospect, I shoulda tried to test the light before I rammed all that super glue up it’s wahTubey but, again, eh. I have proceeded to use that super-tubey LED light no less than 6 times in the past 5 days. It is very chic.
I finally uploaded all of my images from the holidays and found a pretty nice one of BopOp’s balloon.

I also posted, on YouTube, my one good video of the event. You can hear me half-laughing (and Emma too) as I bend over backwards and she nearly falls off my shoulders. She didn’t, of course, primarily because she got her hooks into every crevice of my face and unhinged my right contact in the process.

Good thing I have learned…they are disposables.

Anta! anta! anta…an…AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Quick! Take the picture – Take the picture – Take the picture!

Emma’s Christmas Bibbit.

I think there are more tiara’s in our house then you would find on the first floor of Buckingham Palace.

CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
So, I intro’ed the last post with a comment about shorter hair so here is a little retrospective of the past four days.
First I would like to direct you to the best shots of the bunch I think taken by BopOp and posted on his blog RentonKayaker.
Then we see about the most blatant indication of the length of The Blonde Mermaid, taken ironically the night before she had it cut.

Next we find her trusty sidekick (so far).

On to the party, er, uh, the NEXT party. The cake you can see was most elegant. One word of warning, don’t expect a common bite of cake to be the same when that bite includes blueberry jello.

Finally, the big reveal, the haircut.

Queen for a day.

And then, the after party, where Emma really rocked.

Abby got her haircut today. Go figure.
She adds another year to her repertoire and suddenly she gets to start making decisions?
She looks very grown up by the way.
We asked her many times in many ways and she insisted, she wanted it cut short because of “the hassle” and because she wanted to “look like Bella”. I think she may honestly tell a stranger someday that her name IS Bella. I don’t know where she gets that.
She wanted it so bad that she was utterly happy to have eight inches of hair cut off today and she only started to cry when the stylist started to put curls into it.
I wanted it STRAIGHHHHHHHhht!
I understand that the stylist couldn’t get the straightener out fast enough. Smart girl that she is, she spoke up after only one 1/2 curl.
Despite all that, I still have more promises to keep. When I said I would deliver on The Mermaids promise, I said I would deliver. Now I have; in spades.

Let’s get this show on the road.
I have promised Mermaid pictures and when I promise, I deliver…sometimes just a little later. But better late than, I always say; or at least I say now.
Without further ado, The Mermaids.
We start with a Princess Appetizer, Snow White and Cinderella.

Move on to the first day of school, which I swore I already released but apparently not. She’s got the look.

Served in the third course we find Belle and Alice, thanks Gramma Nana.

Now we see someone has skipped all the way to desert and has the devilish smile to prove it.

Aha, the Main Course is about to come out, but wait, a pumpkin Sorbet.

Ahhh, the masterwork of The Great Sorbini!

And yes, we have tone and of course The Mermaid and The Bibbit.

Abby, where did you get this rollerskate girl?
McDonalds.
Hm, that is…interesting (raising eyebrows to Mommy).
Yeah, but Mommy said she is TOO saxy.
Oh?
Yeah, she shows too much of her belly.
Saxy?
[askance look] Uhhh…sixy?
Yeah, sixy. I think you are right. She IS too sixy.
I don’t think they could make her much more sixy without being co-sponsored by Hugh himself.
Exactly who are these Happy Meals for anyway?
Emma has the advantage of a big sister who has taken swimming lessons.
She is more content in the water than any youngling I have seen.
She likes to lay back in the bath, literally up to her eyeballs, and just hang out there listening to the world through water. If she catches a wave in the nose large enough to disturb her peace she rolls like a gator, face down in the tub, and promptly sits up without so much as a sputter.
Here we see them in their native habitat.

So many of you have commented on Amelia and her strong resemblance to The Daddy that I thought it only fair to share the cause of all this talk with some of my less fortunate readers (if there are any).
Less fortunate because they weren’t privvy to THIS
MoouWah HA haha hahahaha.

Okay, well maybe more fortunate, but still, you gotta admit there is a bit of a resemblance.
