Forced Isolation: Day 1??

First things first – I’m not counting in days anymore. Maybe I’ll start counting in centimeters? – by the length of my quarantine beard. 🙂

That uniqueness aside, and in an attempt to bring some additional/interesting options to our coming summer physical distancing efforts, I ponied up for a projector and an outside movie screen. (Daughter for scale)

I was surprised, sorta, at the overall size – 20 feet looks bigger than it sounds. 🙂 After a successful test later at night, it’s quite easy to fill the screen with a completely doable projection. We are looking forward to some physically distant, socially engaging, outdoor movie-nights at the Blief Drive-in & Backyard Bli-BQ

Capitol Hill Occupied Protest

Had to see it for myself. The WeeOne went with me and we listened to some people speak, read some signs, observed a nascent community, and relaxed in a bit of space without any trepidation.

The only bad thing about it all; I am fairly confident it will result in another spike in COVID-19 cases. Most people were respectful, it was sunny and breezy but…there were just too many people too close to each other.

Forced Isolation: Day 76

Picture this one in your mind – it’s 6:22PM as I heard this.

WeeOne! Wake up and get yourself some dinner!

On another note – three of us woke up* at 6:30 AM to watch the livestream of the SpaceX Dragon, Capsule Endeavor dock with the ISS. That was neat.

* Correction – ONE of us woke up as the other two were STILL awake. The fourth of us resolved to watch it on replay.

Forced Isolation: 1, 2, skip a few…Day 72

The last few days have been relatively “plain” by quarantine standards. Although a welcome (nearly distant) visit from Monya & BopOp yesterday was a relief.

But, today, in science class, TheWeeOne and I built an engine with a magnet, a battery, and a long loop of wire!

Look at that blurry thing spin between the copper coils – this was with the flash on.

Forced Isolation: Day 63

It’s all a process.

In order to complete our back-hall pantry I need to finish replacing the floor. But, to finish the floor I need to remove the baseboard trim, finish wet-sanding the ceiling, wet-sand the old patches in the walls, fix the bad patch in the skylight, patch old crusty spots outside the bathroom (pictured) probably shellac some sections of the ceiling and skylight, decide what to do with the lame-ass heater vent by the back door, paint the ceiling, replace the outlets, tape-off the trim, and paint the walls. (Optional, replace the bathroom door and install cornice trim).

Now that I’ve written it all down; it’s feels like it is almost done…not. #timeToExecute
