Weeks ago Abby talked about jumping so high she would jump to the moon.
I told her that it takes a lot of people to get to the moon and jump on it and I just spouted off a few including engineers, ground control etc.
Tonight she revisited the subject.
I jump so high up to the sky!
Yeah, that is pretty high.It takes a lot of people to jump up to the moon though.
That’s right honey, it does.
Like Mary…and…
Like Mary?
Uh huh. (as if that is obvious)
Yeah it takes a lot of people like ground control, and maybe even some lawyers (first job I could think of…probably because of the Mary connection.) in case there are problems and…Yeah you need somebody to catch you too! Like Maryyy and Andyyy.
OK, OK, I give up. What “Mary” were you talking about; what Mary and Andy were Abby talking about? GGG [curiously]

Since Lief probably replied to GGG’s comment in email, I would like to add my observations of Mary and Andy for other readers who may not know of their relationship to Abby.
Mary and Andy are the parents of ‘Bella and Will. ‘Bella is a bit older than Abby, so Abby admires her. Mary can throw a softball from deep center field to home plate, which is nearly as far as the Moon. She can also run very fast and very far. They are both very good at catching falling children. Andy actually goes into “auto-block” mode when a child approaches a precipice, and “auto-hold” mode when a child is standing at the peak of a prominence.

Abby’s phrase “I jump so high, up to the sky” may have come from a little melody I sang for her called “Little Bird.” Part of the lyrics go like this:
Light and fragile, feathered sky blue.
Thin and graceful, the Sun shining through.
She flies so high, up in the sky,
Way out of reach of human eye.
