That is one HAIL of a stone!

Okay, weird weather is one thing you know; snow in March and all that but hail! And hail like this!
I came home tonight about 30 minutes after the hail storm to end all hailstorms.

Ang and the kids were at a birthday party and what do I find but this! I was dumbstruck.

Take a closer look here!

UnBliefAble Roof damage

I found this in the garage, it must have melted or broken quite a bit because I don’t see how this hail stone, even as huge as it is, could have done that!

That takes a lot of gall

I called all the news channels 4,9,r,1, & 7 but they haven’t sent anybody yet. They don’t know what to cover anymore. I think they are all fools anyway.

Then when the kids got home, well we just closed the door to the garage and thanked our lucky stars that nobody was home and that nobody was hurt.

  1. We had hail too and lots of it, not to mention thunder and lightning!! Our hail wasn’t as big as that piece you found. Sorry about the damage to your garage roof, that is nuts!!

  2. Dear “the Mommy”,
That was/is the best April Fool’s joke in my life!! If you hadn’t alerted me to it, I was just about to write a big, long, analytical letter about how big that hailstone must have been, what the total energy had to be and what the theoretical terminal velocity would be, assuming that the hail stone was about 90% solid (I noted little “voids” in the pictured “stone” –er, I mean snowball!!) to do that much damage to the roof, etc, etc!!

Thanks for saving me all that effort.

Now I shall expend an “appropriate” amount of time and effort thinking of a “suitable” way to get even with your mischievous husband.

  3. It would have been an April Fool’s joke IF it hadn’t been put online on March 31st! That’s when I read it, an hour or so after the storm. Geesh.

  4. Oh Lief!! I was just looking at this story again and laughing about how all of us “smart” dudes had been sucked into believing it.

I noticed the little hint that you dropped when you said you thought all the TV reporters were “are all fools anyway.” I laughed again at the “pop-up” caption that one gets when one places the cursor on the pictures. Then I noticed the little caption at the lower left corner of each picture where you always put “Copyright 2008 Lief” — What’s that say??

On these pictures it says, “Copyright Loof Lipra”. You figure!! I really laughed hard at that one!!
