Footstool

As noted in recent comments, the item which was recently broken is a footstool.

And as I am usually comment silent (I have my say in the main piece and with the rest; come what may.) I am inclined to break my silence this time in the form of another post. Careful though, I am not defending myself, I learned long ago to break – fix – and move on.

This is just for fun.

This item and it’s common usage is for assistance in gaining the proper elevation into our vertically inflated sleeping platform for the older mermaid, so it is commonly and adequately used as a stepstool.

I have often, based on the heft of the decorated legs, judged it a worthy opponent to my downward force largely due to it’s history of violent opposition to my peace-loving pinky toe.

That said, stepstool, footstool, ladder, end-table, vault?…What does one thing have to do with another? It will be fixed, and this time it will be over-engineered (as so many things in my house are) with 3/4 inch plywood in order to become all of these things.

Then I will move on.

  1. Well Lief, this one is not your fault. It was made cheaply. Technically, yes it might be a footstool, but I did give it to Ang to use to help the little ones clamber up onto the new tall bed. And to keep one of you larger ones from acciedentally dislocating your back upon exit from said bed until you got used to the different height. So the fault is probably mine, but if you fix it with plywood it should be able to make the transition from footstool to ladder-assist.
That of course does not mean it in any way is in the trampoline family 🙂

  2. Very well put, Lief. I apologize for any feelings of guilt I may have inadvertently imposed upon you.

In fact, a foot stool, in Grumpy’s mind, is supposed to sustain a foot (or two!) and any body part(s) attached thereto, including those parts which are attached to those parts, etc, etc. [Maybe, but not necessarily, those items such as little girls — and, hey! even a wife!! — who might be being gently hoisted into said elevated bed structure by someone attached to said feet.]
