It was an old helmet.
It had some broken fitment pieces and since it was over 6 years old it is technically not safe any longer…due to exposure to damaging UV rays. Planned obsolescence.

And know…it took the several large rocks followed by the car running over it to get it to look this bad! Abby was very enthusiastic about hitting it with the hammer, alas, her inferior (i.e. 6 year old) muscles didn’t even make a dent!
