  1. And “hiding” under some of those leaves could be a diagonal “seam” that will “lead” your front wheel to one side and leave your “better half” scooting along on the leaves on the other side!

  2. I recognize that section of your route since I went that way daily for nearly two years. Those leaves are the slipperiest I have ever encountered, and it doesn’t help that the sidewalk curves through there. The leaves even get so thick on the ground that you can’t see where the edge of the sidewalk is.

    My new route has lots of leaves, but none are as slippery, or dangerous, as your short section in the photo.

    Instead, I have new dangers: The other evening as I was heading home in the dark, down a hill with no street lights, heading for a narrow gate opening, I was surprised to discover a huge tree limb that had crashed down across my path. Lucky for me my headlight was bright enough to see it in time to slow down and dodge around it.
