Nashville

Southeast view from the top of the Renaissance hotel.

Seen here is the Cumberland river and the Shelby street bridge.
The largest building on the left side is the AT&T regional office, affectionately called The Bat Building.

Greatest state in the land of the free - although there's no mountaintops here - they're all in the eastern section of the state.

The weather is cold and several inches of snow is expected tonight.

Five miles to the southwest my great great grandfather R.R. Banker fought, as a member of The Union army joining General Sherman’s march to the sea, in The Battle at Brentwood.

I am here, in a small capacity, to enhance 9-1-1 architecture in ways that the people in those days couldn’t fathom. Those soldiers then helped maintain the union which now mandates it’s use (9-1-1) for the public good.

Update: in the time it took me to write this it really started to dump snow. Woo hoo!

  1. 1 – I can totally see Bruce Wayne standing on top of that building.

2 – If you can do an “after” pick with the snow that would be cool.

Enjoy Nashville…say hi to Conway Twitty, Boxcar Willie and that lady with the price tag on her hat behind the hay bale.

  2. Normally I’m jealous if anyone travels and I’m not, but I can honestly say in this case I’m not. The food is probably good though. If you don’t have southern food and BBQ while you’re there I’ll be disappointed in you.
