Fast snowfall 2011

This snow was widely predicted (my new favorite weather predictor is Cliff Mass, the Atmospheric Weather Sciences Prof. at the UW – clearly he knows his stuff).
But even as widely predicted as it was it still accumulated faster than I thought possible.
In a few short hours it went from dry as a bone to about 4 inches, that’s fast.

Enjoy it while it lasts (or if you prefer a warmer clime…rest assured it won’t last long).

These are ~13 to 15 second time exposures taken between about 22:00 and 02:00.
(I worked tonight and will continue early tomorrow ’cause I FULLY expect to stay home and and play in the snow with The Mermaids)

What a tangle!

More tangle!

That's at least 4 inches! - in about 4 hours

  1. Great going!! Excellent compromise of natural & ambient (street lighting) lights, with judicious “hiding” of nearby porch lights.

You got more snow there than we did here at 330 ft above sea level (you are about 150).

  2. Oh, and wise father you are, who plans ahead for time with your Mermaids.
Too soon they will fade away from the closeness and availability they (and you) have now and should treasure. So you are wise to not waste the opportunities!
