It’s no secret that LaGrande Mermaid spends a lot of time at the dance studio.
What seems to be less evident, at least by a count of dance related bliefs, is how much she likes it.
This last weekend her group, named Animato, competed again; the season runs Jan through Feb/Mar and next weekend *might* be her last Animato performance of the 2011 season.
This weekend they performed two numbers a jazz number called “Proud Mary” in the blue costumes and a musical theater number called “Positoovity” in the white costumes. They did exceptionally well this time.
Positoovity got best overall (out of three numbers), the highest allowable ranking, and a special judges award while Proud Mary received the second highest ranking (both in the same age category) and another special judges award.
Without further ado,

Wonderful photos Lief! And a lot of hard work for LaGrande!
Good for them!

Yes, great photos, Lief!
I’m just fascinated-curious by the “pouty, warning” expression on the face of Le Grande Ducke in that last picture — what was the musical words or thought that went with it?

@Aunt Jane: It’s a Thinking Seagull – based on the Positoovity piece from Broadway’s version of The Little Mermaid
@ Great Grandpa Z: Just guessing but it might be when they say
“That’s why we sounds Like thers knowledge In our noodle”

Oh yes! Now I see the light bulb (ideas!!) gleaming above her head!
Having never seen “Little Mermaid”, a thinking seagull never entered my head.
