Found a peanut

Found a pothole, with a manhole, in a sinkhole just now,
Just now I found a pothole-manhole-bunghole just now.

It was lumpy it was crumpy it was FRUUUMMPY just now,
Just now I saw’t bumpy, went’a thumpy just now.

Made it over it, saved my lower bits, but she GALLOP’T just now,
Just now I made it over it, swore a wittow bit just now.

Since I made it through, slowed it down a few, then I SAAAIID a quick ‘woo hoo’,
But the ‘do da do’, meant a rim boo boo, it was THEH-en that I knew.

That I broke it.

  1. I too broke, misaligned or bent my bicycle rim today. Actually the van that almost hit me head-on causing me to take evasive action is to blame – and no she didn’t stop to say sorry. Sorry to hear that both Lief and Jim C. also are having bad cycling days.

  2. Ah, as I remember there once was little blonde-headed boy — he was younger then than you are now; he came home with a rim — oh, so bent! He told me (his Dad) that he “didn’t know how it got bent!? Can you fix it Dad?”

His Dad (that’s me) took one look and asked, “Did you run into a curb with that bicycle front wheel?”

“Oh no,” the little blonde boy replied, his blue eyes fluttering innocent like, “It couldn’t be!”

“The curvature of that bent rim sure looks like it just about fits perfectly the shape of a curb”, the Dad replied.

And of course I fixed that bike for that little blonde-headed boy (he was my number two son!).
