Rock hides in shadow.
Tube went Pow! Like a gunshot.
Clack’t teeth, ride Uber.

Closer inspection shows my rim took a lashing.

Yikes, was that this morning? Glad you are okay, you are okay right? So evidently bikes need a “cattle catcher”( perhaps called a “rattle catcher” in the case of a rock) ahead of the tire!
